The N.E.C.C. is intended to generate an interest in low-cost slot car racing by running a series of races throughout New England. This series is for young and old alike, and is a style of racing where building chassis, setting up gear ratios and tire combinations, and passing strategies on the track have a lot in common with NASCAR racing.
All NECC races feature the following divisions:
- Junior Group 10
- Senior Group 10
- 4-1/2" Stockcars
- Outlaw
- GTP
The series is run as a points series. Racers in each division (or class) compete against each other not only for top honors of the day, but also to accumulate the greatest amount of points. At the end of the 9-month series, the racer in each division with the most points is crowned as the division champion...earning him or herself an extra payday in the form of an N.E.C.C. gift certificate, which is good at any of the participating tracks for a finite period of time following the date of issue.
N.E.C.C. track owners are dedicated to making the hobby of slot car racing as fun and affordable as possible. By becoming a part of the N.E.C.C. series, each track is promoting the best possible caliber of racing by opening it up to competitors who might not be a "regular" at their track. This in turn gives those who are "regulars" a chance to compare their racing skills and style against some of the best racers in New England.
We invite you to stop by any of our scheduled races, or to stop by any of the tracks that the N.E.C.C. runs on during their 9-month long series, and see for yourself what slot car racing and the N.E.C.C. are all about.
